Homogenizers and Tackfiers

Homogenisers promote the ease of blending different polymers and improve their compatibility with one another. They ensure that mixed rubber batches are compact and increase the mixing efficiency, resulting in improved and faster distribution and greater homogeneity. Homogenisers often increase the tackiness of compounds, while also improving flow properties and optimising the mechanical properties of the vulcanisate. For example, in butyl rubber, the use of a good homogeniser like Struktol HT 324 lowers gas permeability, in addition to improving processability and filler distribution.
