Zinc soaps are well known process additives in the rubber industry, and show their best effects as the primary lubricant in NR and SBR compounds. Working as internal lubricants, zinc soaps increase the polymer/polymer or polymer/filler flow through the formation of micelles. Additionally, zinc soaps have a slight cure activation effect and often increase the stability of cured NR compounds.

  • Fast incorporation and improved dispersion of silica, highly reinforcing fillers and also inactive fillers
  • Especially suitable for tire tread compounds where fast mixing and good batch off handling is required

The increased scrutiny of the use of zinc in rubber compounds due to ecological concerns surrounding heavy metals has led to the development of environmentally friendly alternatives. Offering simular effects as traditional zinc soaps, our zinc-free product group is free of heavy metals, enabling the reduction of the total zinc content in a compound without any loss of processability or performance.

Struktol® my HT 207
  • Mixture of soaps and fatty acid esters
  • Beige pastilles

Packaging: 20 kg bags
Density: 1060 kg/m³
Melting point: 65 °C
Dosage: 1 - 3 phr

  • Improved extrusion rate and reduced mill roll sticking
  • Dispersing effect on silica fillers leading to viscosity reduction and improved flow
  • Reduced tan d in silica filled compounds

Our fatty acid derivative lubricants are multi-functional, effective in nearly all polymers regardless of the filler type used or the intended final application. They influence all essential processing properties needed for an easy and smooth production. Added at the beginning of the mixing cycle filler dispersion is improved, while best flow and release properties are achieved when adding at the end of mixing.
